Portland has some of the oldest and most beautiful bridges in the country. The photo above is of the Hawthorne bridge which spans the Willamette River here in Portland. It’s the oldest vertical lift bridge in operation in the United States.
The first two photos below are of the Hawthorne bridge, I was waiting for it to lift so I could get a shot of it. If you look closely in the second photo you we notice the barge coming up the river…
The third photo is from underneath the Morrison Bridge.
